Introduction
SAVE THE DATE! Research Professionals Network Workshop “Operationalizing Community Engagement in Research” on February 27 from 3-4:30pm
The Research Professionals Network offers a series of peer-led, collaborative workshops focused on topics relevant to our research professional staff and based in the Joint Task Force for Clinical Trial Competency Framework. Come learn from your colleagues’ expertise and experiences! Workshops are taught by peer staff from the collaborating sites: BMC/BU Medical Campus, University of Vermont (and affiliate Maine Medical Center), University of Florida (and affiliate Florida State University), and Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC).
Community engagement in research is a strategy shown to increase health equity and accessibility to studies for underserved communities. This leads to downstream improvements in project feasibility, research design, recruitment, and implementation; all of which speeds the translation of research-into-practice. Join us to explore tools and resources through case studies. We will model common scenarios faced when working to engage communities/stakeholders/patients in research.
